Bells After School offers kids grades 2 - 8 an affordable after school program that teaches superior musicianship through the ringing of English handbells. Kids work together in teams to master ringing and music skills that build confidence, focus, mental and physical acuity, and camaraderie. They earn belts and badges as they achieve at their own pace. Our instructors provide a caring and challenging environment that is committed to each student achieving their utmost potential. Students take the lessons learned in handbells with them well into aulthood, as well as lifelong friends made from sharing in the creative process with others.
In addition to each student working on their individual skills and achievements, we also place each ringer in their own skill level appropriate ensemble or team. By placing ringers in ensembles according to skill level, students are given the best opportunity for success in a team environment. Our slogan of "Every Ringer Counts" doesn't just apply to the musical skill involved in playing handbells but also the importance of each individual to the success of the team as a whole. As students progress through the program, they are often called on to assist in other ensembles of less experienced players sharing in their development by being a mastery level player for that group to emulate.We have 6 different children's and student ringing teams to meet the need of every ringer from beginning to advanced.
